    [edit interfaces interface-name]

    Release Information

Statement introduced in Junos OS Mobility Release 11.2W.

Configure the maximum transmission unit (MTU) size for the mobile interface. MTU sizes can be important because the GPRS tunneling protocol (GTP) tunneling can cause a data unit to exceed the maximum frame size when the tunnel headers are added, which causes an error. However, larger MTU sizes increase throughput.

    mtu-size—MTU size.

    Range: 256 through 9192 bytes

Default: 500 bytes (INET, INET6, and ISO families), 1448 bytes (MPLS)
