    Making Changes to a Mobile Interface

    This example shows how to make changes to a mobile interface.


    Putting the charging profile into maintenance mode consists of the following steps:

    Step-by-Step Procedure

    The following procedure shows how to modify and commit the IPv4 MTU under the mif unit 2 and commit.

    1. Set the MX router to configuration mode.
      userhost# configure
    2. On the gateway MBG1 place the APN alice1 into maintenance mode.
      userhost# set unified-edge gateways ggsn-pgw MBG1 apn-services apn alice1 service-mode maintenance
    3. Commit maintenance mode.
      userhost# commit
    4. Verify that the APN is in active maintenance mode where configuration changes will be accepted for this object and all of its sub-hierarchies.
      userhost# run show unified-edge ggsn-pgw apn service-mode apn alice1 maintenance mode
      APN Name        : Service Mode
                  alice1                : Maintenance - Active Phase
    5. Change and commit the Maximum Transmission Unit to 1550.
      userhost# set interfaces mif unit 2 family inet mtu 1550user@host# commit
    6. Exit maintenance mode.
      user@host# delete unified-edge gateways ggsn-pgw MBG1 apn-services apn alice1 service-mode maintenance user@host# commit
    7. Verify that the change has been made.
      user@host# show interfaces mif.2
      Logical interface mif.2 (Index 719) (SNMP ifIndex 771)
           Flags: SNMP-Traps Encapsulation: GTP-over-MIF
           Bandwidth: 1000mbps
           Input packets : 0
           Output packets: 0

    The MIF is put in active maintenance mode. You can change attributes and commit them.
