Disabling FIPS Mode


You might need to disable FIPS mode on your NFX250 to return it to non-FIPS operation.

Best Practice

For FIPS 140-2 compliance, you must zeroize the system to remove sensitive information before disabling FIPS mode on the NFX250 device. In addition, If the USB tamper proof seal is damaged, then in such case the device should be zeroized.

To disable FIPS mode in Junos OS:

  1. Log in to the NFX250 device if you have not already done so:
  2. Delete the FIPS mode by issuing request system zeroize command. System reboots without any FIPS configuration.
