    Description/Cause

    OTU Alarm Indication Signal: The local interface has received an OTU-AIS signal from the NE at the far end of the fiber, indicating that no OTN OTU signal is being transmitted upstream of (and toward) the local NE.

    Note: This signal is generated by non-BTI7800 NEs only.

    Condition Clearing

    The condition will clear when the fault that resulted in the transmission of the OTU-AIS signal is resolved.
