    system database restore

    Syntax

    system database restore factory-defaultsystem database restore localsystem database restore remote protocol:url [ password password ]

    Description

    This command restores the system to a backed-up database or to the factory-default database.

    factory-default

    This restores the factory-default database.

    local

    This restores the backed-up database from local chassis storage.

    This option is only available for the BTI7801 chassis.

    remote protocol:url

    This restores the backed-up database found at the specified location.

    Note: You can only restore the database to the same chassis from which the database was backed up.

    sftp|ftp://
    [username@]host
    [:port]/filename

    username is the username to use on the remote server.

    host is the host name or IP address of the remote server.

    port is the protocol port number to use.

    filename is the filepath and name of the configuration database file that you want to restore.

    If username is not specified, the current CLI session’s login name is used.

    If port is not specified, the standard default FTP or SFTP port is used.

    password password

    The password associated with the specified username

    If a password is not specified, the system prompts you for a password.

    Note: The password must contain alphanumeric characters only.

    Additional Information

    The filename of the backed-up database must be unchanged from the original filename the system used when backing up the database.

    This procedure is service-affecting. The system performs an automatic cold reload of all modules immediately after restoring the database.

    You can only restore the database to the same chassis from which the database was backed up.
