Juniper is changing the game with AI native operations for data center networking or AI Ops. Today, we're going to demonstrate how to elevate your data center Assurance capabilities from network assurance to app assurance. You can achieve this by using new functionality that's part of Apstra Cloud Services, our suite of cloud-based AI native applications for the data center.

The first application is called application/service awareness. It does exactly what it sounds like. It gives you visibility and awareness of what applications and services are running in your data center, and where. Starting from a summary view of applications and services in the network, you can drill down to focus on one specific app or service, see exactly where it's connecting to the network, and even identify all the individual clients using it. Use the Connection view to see where the traffic from that app is traveling through the network, and the Flow view to see how large the traffic flows are.

You can even travel back in time. Let's say you need to troubleshoot an application performance problem that occurred last night. Just select the time range you want to focus on, and then move the slider to see how the application traffic and the number of clients using the application changed over time. Just by itself, this visibility into apps and services in the network can really speed up troubleshooting and reduce your mean time to resolution or mean time to innocence.

But that's not all! The second application, which is called impact analysis, lets you zero in on the root causes of application issues to help you elevate your assurance gain.

How often have you seen a network alert and wondered, Is this important, or is it just a symptom of some other problem and, is it actually impacting any applications or users?

With traditional Network management tools, getting those answers to those questions takes too long. With impact analysis, you can immediately see what the current alerts or anomalies are. Here, you see a link status mismatch, and which services and applications are impacted by each one. You can drill down to see where the problem is in the network and which application clients are affected by it.

This really shows the power of AI Ops in the data center. With these two applications, you not only know what's running on your network. You can quickly isolate the root causes and the application impacts of any network issue. You can reduce alert fatigue, focus on the right problems, and fix them faster.
