Juniper Networks Network and Security Manager (NSM) is a unified device management solution for Juniper's network infrastructure of routing, switching and security devices. It provides centralized, end-to-end device lifecycle management, granular policy configuration and comprehensive monitoring, reporting and investigative tools to enable you to improve IT management and cost efficiencies and to maximize the security of your network. NSM is highly scalable. Enterprise customers can leverage NSM globally to scale from branch to data center, and Service Providers can use it for carrier-class deployments.

NSM is also very flexible and can be deployed as software on a server or as dedicated appliances to scale large enterprise and service provider environments.

NSM is composed of:

• NSM software – provides complete management of network and security devices
• NSMXpress – Web UI-based appliance version of NSM for easy installation, maintenance and support. Includes full functionality of NSM with hardened OS optimized for security and performance
• NSM Central Manager – Web UI-based appliance enables large-scale NSM deployments and global policy enforcement. It simplifies the management of global security policies across NSM regional servers by allowing administrators to create a centralized security posture that propagates mandated corporate and IT policies across their entire network
