Junos Pulse Application Acceleration Service delivers accelerated secure remote network access. With the Junos Pulse Application Acceleration Service, enterprises can now enable cost-effective, dynamic, pervasive application acceleration in concert with secure, remote network access that is location-agnostic via the Junos Pulse Secure Access Service. Employees who travel or work outside a branch or head office can be assured of secure, accelerated, remote network access for even their most cumbersome, data-laden applications in real time.

Remote and mobile network users, teleworkers, home offices and small branch offices need fast response times for critical applications. The Junos Pulse Application Acceleration Service provides an affordable mobile network solution that is easy to use and cost effective, enhancing usability and productivity. External contractors and partners who need network access to the enterprise extranet are also assured fast, reliable, and secure remote connectivity to enterprise applications, enhancing collaboration.

The Junos Pulse Application Acceleration Service works by detecting and establishing communication with a MAG Series Junos Pulse Gateway (or WXC Series Application Acceleration Platform) located in the corporate data center. Once established, the connection optimizes application traffic using advanced compression and protocol acceleration techniques.

The MAG Series gateway monitors and manages remote and mobile Junos Pulse clients distributed across the enterprise on Microsoft Windows-based laptops and PCs. There is no additional hardware or software needed to manage Junos Pulse Application Acceleration Service licensing, as this is managed in the MAG Series gateway. The Junos Pulse Application Acceleration Service can be deployed in concert with the Junos Pulse Secure Access Service, which provides Juniper Networks’ industry-leading SSL VPN capabilities to deliver accelerated, secure remote access. End users are not required to make any changes to their Microsoft Windows environment or processes, and can continue working as before while enjoying much faster access to applications.

Features Benefits
Auto discovery No upfront tunnel setup such as IP address configuration or hard coding is required, minimizing configuration complexity.
Integration with Juniper SSL VPN secure remote access Provides a simplified, transparent application acceleration capability for market-leading remote access, delivering an integrated, secure, accelerated remote access solution.
Additional VPN compatibility No need to change VPN infrastructure, preserving existing investments.
Memory-based compression Effectively makes substantial increase to WAN capacity.
Network Sequence Caching (NSC) Effectively and efficiently speeds application acceleration by eliminating redundant data patterns
TCP acceleration Reduces latency caused by application protocols and improves end user responsiveness by accelerating the response of TCP-based applications on high latency networks, greatly improving user response times.
CIFS acceleration Delivers significant improvements in file transfer and sharing performance.
SSL acceleration Improves performance of encrypted applications, including Microsoft SharePoint or EMC Documentum.
MAPI acceleration Improves performance and user responsiveness by accelerating MAPI applications, including Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, 2007 and 2010.
