SBR Service Provider Edition
Juniper Networks Steel-Belted Radius Service Provider Edition controls network access, supports differentiated services tailored to unique customer requirements, and manages network resources.
Steel-Belted Radius Service Provider Edition offers:
- Enhanced network security: Centralized authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) and management of subscribers enforce security policies.
- High-capacity server: SBR PE scales to manage the largest networks. Acting as a proxy target server, SBR SP can distribute authentication to any RADIUS server.
- Seamless integration: Seamless operation in heterogeneous environments of virtually all deployment types and manufacturers simplifies deployment and operations.
- Simplified operations: Advanced features such as XML-based GUI and replication make it simple to configure and maintain SBR PE. Reports facilitate diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Advanced reliability: Load balancing and redundancy across all authentication and accounting systems help meet stringent uptime requirements, and guaranteed delivery of accounting data eliminates lost packets.
- Optional modules: With SBR Service Level Manager, wholesale carriers and ISPs can enforce concurrent login limits for remote users, across all SBR PE servers and network access devices. SBR EAP Expansion Module supports secure public WLAN access based on 802.1X and tunneled EAP protocols.
- Customization tools: The SBR SDK allows developers to customize SBR SP to meet unique business opportunities and technical requirements.

325-650 megabytes of local (not NFS) disk space;
Hard disk space requirements depend on the system's product configuration.
Solaris version of SBR Administrator requires at least 81 megabytes of local disk space.
TCP/IP must be configured.
Perl version 5.8.3 is required to use the auto-restart feature of SBR Service Provider Edition.
The Solaris version of SBR Service Provider Edition supports any SQL database server that is Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) compliant for RADIUS authentication and accounting.
Although Oracle versions 8.0.0, 9.0.0, and 10.0.0 are supported, versions 8.1.7, 9.2.0 and 10.2.0 are recommended.

The optional SBR EAP Expansion Module can be added to an existing SBR Service Provider Edition or SBR High Availability Server deployment to offer secure Internet access from public venues and provide enterprise customers public access that's as secure as their corporate WLAN access.
