Steel-Belted Radius SIM Server includes all the features and benefits of Steel-belted Radius Service Provider Edition, plus:

  • Full-function RADIUS/AAA server: The SBR SIM is a fully-function RADIUS server that supports authentication based on EAP-SIM, EAP-AKA, or secure one-time password based on the SMS text messaging protocol.
  • Enables more service offerings: IP-based services can be offered to GSM customers without upgrading the customer care infrastructure. The SBR SIM enables services that extend into unlicensed radio networks such as 802.1X, WiMAX, and Bluetooth.
  • Flexible authentication options: The SBR SIM works in 802.1X, non-802.1X, and UMA environments and permits subscriber authentication via EAP-SIM, EAP-AKA, or one-time password (via SMS) and single-use SMS password authorization. The SIM or SMS infrastructure can facilitate secure subscriber provisioning, authentication, and billing.
