Juniper Networks to Discuss Innovations and Vision for High-Performance Networking at SUPERCOMM 2009

Juniper thought leaders will be offering their vision on topics including network energy efficiency, Carrier Ethernet evolution, fixed-mobile convergence and network stress testing.

In a session titled, “Energy Efficiency in Telecom Networks,” Alan Sardella, senior product marketing manager for the high-end systems business unit at Juniper, will seek to separate the hype from reality in green networking and provide an overview of the initiatives underway to establish a repeatable and standardized metric for measuring networking efficiency.
Ravi Medikonda, of Juniper’s high-end systems business unit, will take part in a panel discussion titled, “Carrier Ethernet Vision: Beyond Aggregation.” In this session, Medikonda will examine whether Carrier Ethernet 2.0 holds the key to addressing critical issues, such as how to operate effectively while scaling the network.

Mallik Tatipapamula, head of mobile and fixed-mobile convergence (FMC) at Juniper, will participate in a panel on “The Promise of Fixed-Mobile Convergence” that will explore what is involved with creating a high-quality, reliable and efficient FMC architecture. Tatipapamula will review a framework for integration that allows consumers to have a consistent set of services and unrestricted service mobility across wireline and wireless networks.

Donald Meyer, senior product marketing manager for high-end security systems at Juniper, will participate in a panel titled, “Operators Feeling Stressed?” Meyer will discuss new approaches to stress testing that better reflect emerging broadband and mobile next-generation networks involving dozens of highly interdependent protocols across potentially hundreds of implementations.
