Malaysia's Global Transit Communications Builds Next-Generation MPLS VPN International Network with Juniper Networks Solutions

New Network Based on Juniper's EX Series Switches and M Series Routers Enables Asian Transport Operator to Deliver New Services with Lower Total Cost of Ownership

MALAYSIA, October 8, 2009 – Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Malaysia's Global Transit Communications Sdn Bhd has built a next-generation network with Juniper infrastructure platforms, including EX Series Ethernet Switches and M Series Multiservice Edge Routers. Global Transit Communications chose Juniper's comprehensive solution to enable the rapid expansion of its international IP transit business and drive revenue growth while dramatically lowering total cost of ownership. The Juniper solution delivers a highly available, reliable and secure infrastructure capable of supporting next-generation services with maximum scale, performance and efficiency.

Global Transit, an affiliate of the AIMS Asia Group, offers IP transit services for Asia Pacific Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Application Service Providers (ASPs), as well as Tier-1 Internet carrier connectivity for enterprises and VoIP service providers. As one of Asia Pacific's leading transport operators, Global Transit is also a key participant in the Unity Cable Project, a consortium of six international carriers working together to install a 10,000 km, 7.68 terabit-per-second (Tbps) transatlantic cable connecting Japan to the United States. The EX Series switches and M Series routers deliver the scale and performance Global Transit requires to support the high bandwidth generated by Unity, as well as growing demand for Global Transit's other new services.

"We are determined to bring content-rich, advanced telecommunication services to ISPs, ASPs, VoIP and corporate customers across the region and, ultimately, the globe," said Saiful Husni Bin Samak, chief executive officer, Global Transit Communications. "The solution presented by Juniper will increase performance, scale and efficiency of our underlying network infrastructure while significantly reducing our operating costs."

The EX Series Ethernet Switches will be deployed at the edge of Global Transit's network to deliver carrier-class reliability, security risk management, network virtualization and application control at a reduced total cost of ownership.

The Juniper Networks M Series Multiservice Edge Routers, located in Global Transit's core network, enable service providers and enterprises to rapidly and efficiently deploy new, revenue-generating services while also minimizing total cost of ownership. The M Series routers, which deliver the industry's most advanced routing features, provide exceptional flexibility and reliability over a wide range of connectivity options without compromise.

Both the EX Series switches and M Series routers run on JUNOS® Software, a single-source operating system that enables consistent operations, unparalleled network scale, superior interoperability and increased service flexibility.

"Service providers who need industry-proven reliability have trusted Juniper's JUNOS-based solutions for over a decade," said Adam Judd, senior vice president for Asia Pacific Juniper Networks. "Our products are designed to deliver industry-leading MPLS capabilities with an unparalleled feature set to ensure that cutting-edge service providers such as Global Transit can monetize their networks with next-generation solutions that enable them to rapidly deliver new applications and services."
