SingTel Delivers High-Performance Enterprise Security with Juniper Networks
Managed Service Offering Leverages Secure Services Gateways, Intrusion Detection and Prevention and High-End Firewall Solutions to Thwart Threats and Reduce Overhead
SUNNYVALE, Calif., November 6, 2008 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) is offering its Managed Security Services (MSS) enabled by Juniper Networks security solutions. As a part of SingTel's suite of managed services, the MSS solutions prevent unauthorized access into customers' networks and provide the first line of defense against cyber-threats such as viruses and worms. SingTel's MSS leverages the robust protection and ease of management of Juniper Networks Secure Services Gateway (SSG), Integrated Security Gateways (ISG) with integrated Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP), and high-performance firewall solutions.
The SingTel MSS are designed to provide enterprise customers with fast, reliable and secure access to applications and services from a single network architecture. This eases the strain on customers' own IT resources, and reduces risk as well as operational and capital expenses, so high-performance enterprises can focus on running their businesses and driving competitive advantage

SingTel offers the SSG as customer premises equipment, giving the customer freedom to customize features for specific sites while benefiting from SingTel's expert network management. The SSG family of integrated network security appliances deliver a complete set of Unified Threat Management (UTM) security features including Stateful firewall, IPSec VPN, IPS, Antivirus (including Anti-Spyware, Anti-Adware and Anti-Phishing), Anti-Spam, and Web Filtering.
Juniper's ISG gateway with IDP and firewall solutions form the back-end of the new managed service. Juniper's ISG is a purpose-built, high-performance integrated security gateway that provides unmatched firewall and IPSec VPN performance for the latest Internet applications and multimedia content. Security zones and various virtualization capabilities make the ISG ideal for multiple network segments and logically separated networks, as in SingTel's managed service. Optional IDP security modules additionally provide full protection from the latest network attacks and threats. SingTel is combining the ISG with other high-end Juniper Networks high-performance firewalls at the back-end of its managed offering.
