Juniper Networks WX and DX Application Acceleration Platforms Achieve SAP® Certified Integration
Certified Integration Demonstrates Juniper's Commitment to Delivering Enhanced Network Performance, Security and Reliability to Customers Using SAP Solutions
SUNNYVALE, Calif., December 5, 2007 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that the company's application acceleration platforms have achieved SAP® Certified Integration. The certified integration affirms that enterprises deploying services and applications using an enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) can achieve improved performance optimization, security and access reliability when integrating the Juniper Networks DX 5.3 load balancing and application acceleration platform in data centers, and improved performance optimization when integrating the Juniper Networks WX TM 5.5 application acceleration platform into their SAP solution-based WAN environments.
The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has verified the integration of DX and WX with the SAP NetWeaver® platform Release 7.0 and the SAP ERP application Release 6.0, which provides customers with validation that Juniper offers a network infrastructure that can deliver a responsive and pre-tested environment for SAP solutions. With Juniper's comprehensive portfolio of application acceleration and security solutions, businesses and government agencies can accelerate performance of SAP solutions over the WAN, improve response times for remote and mobile users and offload servers while improving security and availability.
With this certified integration, customers can look to Juniper to help overcome the obstacles posed by a distributed and extended enterprise, which depends on secure and fast communications over WAN connections. The DX and WX platforms help simplify business processes and accelerate the delivery of innovative services while potentially reducing companies' total cost of ownership.
Juniper Networks Application Delivery and WAN Optimization
In a series of real-world business scenarios that tested application delivery and WAN optimization, Juniper's WX 5.5 platform achieved certified integration with the SAP ERP application 6.0 for Network Performance Optimization for enterprise SOA-based solutions. Juniper's DX 5.3 platform was certified in the same SAP solution-based landscape in three areas: 1) network security via a full HTTP/S proxy that allows whitelists/blacklists, SSL validation and protocol inspection anywhere in the HTTP stream for all transactions; 2) network performance by optimizing connections with TCP proxying, real-time compression, TCP multiplexing, SSL offload and/or termination; and 3) access reliability and availability by load balancing, health checking and monitoring application statistics.
The certifications also complement previous testing conducted in February 2007 at SAP's Enterprise Services Community Networking Lab. The results confirmed that the Juniper WX and DX application acceleration platforms boost the performance of data-intensive SAP solution-based transactions in the distributed enterprise.
