Korean Realtor Empowers Real-time Business with Juniper Networks

Kyobo Realco Secures Nationwide Distributed Enterprise by Deploying High-Performance Secure Services Gateway and NetScreen Appliances

SUNNYVALE, Calif., October 17, 2007 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Kyobo Realco Inc., a major Korean real estate management company, is protecting its business network with the Juniper Networks Secure Services Gateway (SSG) 550 and NetScreen security appliances. These devices secure links between Kyobo Realty's head office in Seoul and more than 70 branch offices nationwide.

Kyobo Realco had earlier shared a network with its parent company Kyobo Life Insurance, from which it was spun off. To comply with regulations, Kyobo Realco built out its own independent network.

"Our business' lifeblood is the Kyobo Property Management System (KPMS), a real-time, mission-critical business application served from the head office," said Mr. Ho-Beum Cho, IT Manager. "Giving our branch offices fast, reliable and secure access to KPMS was a baseline requirement of our new high-performance network. We also had to maintain the lowest possible IT administration overhead, because our distributed offices are staffed only by real estate professionals. Juniper's SSG 550 delivers a robust set of best-in-class network security and routing features for our head office, while the NetScreen appliances provide our branch offices with the appropriate mix of security and simplified management. NetScreen Security Manager (NSM) software allows us to centrally and conveniently manage these appliances."

Juniper's SSG 550 is a purpose-built security appliance that delivers a perfect mix of performance, security and LAN/WAN connectivity for regional and branch office deployments. Traffic flowing in and out of the branch office is protected from worms, Spyware, Trojans, and malware by a complete set of optional Unified Threat Management (UTM) security features including Stateful firewall, IPSec VPN, IPS, Antivirus (includes Anti-Spyware, Anti-Adware, Anti-Phishing), Anti-Spam, and Web Filtering. Complementing the powerful UTM security features is a robust routing engine that allows the SSG 550 to be deployed as a traditional branch office router or as a combination firewall and routing device to help reduce capital and operational expenses.

The NetScreen integrated security devices are feature-rich, enterprise-class, network security solutions that provide high-performance, robust firewall and VPN features. They are ideal for branch deployments requiring low total cost of ownership and excellent return on investment.

Juniper's NetScreen-Security Manager takes a new approach to security management by providing centralized, end-to-end lifecycle management for granular control of device configuration, network settings and security policies. With clear delegation of roles and responsibilities, NetScreen-Security Manager allows device technicians, network administrators and security administrators to work together to improve management efficiency, reduce overhead, and lower operating costs.

"Korean enterprises want the advantages of a distributed model without the IT complexities that used to be associated with remote offices access," said Tim Kang, vice president of Korea for Juniper Networks. "Our high-performance integrated security solutions are optimized for this environment, delivering a host of features that protect crucial business infrastructure without distracting companies from their core business competencies."
