Istanbul's Leading Gas Supplier Selects Juniper Networks High-Performance J- and M-Series Routers for Major Network Upgrade
IGDAS Creates a Secure and Reliable Branch Infrastructure for Enhanced Customer Service
SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 17, 2007 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that IGDAS, Istanbul's leading natural gas distribution company, has upgraded its Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure with Juniper Networks J-series and M-series routers. The Juniper routers provide IGDAS with secure and reliable network connectivity between its branch offices in support of a 24x7 operation to supply gas to its three million subscribers. Surat, a Juniper Networks Select J-Partner in Turkey, managed the implementation.

IGDAS installed Juniper's J-series services routers at each of its 60+ branch offices that then connect to one of four distribution centers, where Juniper's M-series multi-service edge routers then provide full ATM network connectivity. The deployment delivers a flexible IP/MPLS aware and QoS-supported high-performance network, ensuring that branch offices have fast, reliable and secure access to Enterprise Resource Planning, email, Geographical Information Systems and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition applications located at the distribution centers.
Integrated routing and firewall functionality ensures the security and reliability of online payments and customer data processed over IGDAS' WAN network. The J-series services routers deployed by IGDAS provides up to 600Mbps packet forwarding performance*, supporting IGDAS' plans to roll out IP telephony and video conferencing services, applications that require consistent, fast throughput to maintain acceptable quality levels.
Juniper's M-series multi-service edge routing portfolio combines best-in-class IP/MPLS capabilities with support for current and emerging Layer 2 and Layer 3 services. Implementation of the M-series in IGDAS' WAN infrastructure enables the company to consolidate several networks into a single high-performance IP/MPLS network, reducing operational costs without compromising application delivery and branch communications.
