Juniper Networks Releases 'IPv6 Routing and Addressing' Report to Aid U.S. Government Agencies' Transition to IPv6

Volume III of the IPv6 World Report Series Provides Critical Guidance to Agencies Transitioning to IPv6 to Meet June 2008 OMB Mandate

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 4, 2007 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced the launch of Volume III of its IPv6 World Report Series, An Essential U.S. Government Agency Transition Guide to IPv6 Routing and Addressing, to support U.S. federal and state and local government agencies' transition to IPv6. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has mandated federal agencies to transition to IPv6 by June 2008. This report will assist agencies as they implement IPv6 within their core networks in a manner that meets their unique requirements and missions and allows them to realize the benefits of IPv6 sooner, while achieving the high-level objectives outlined by OMB.

"Juniper Networks' IPv6 World Report Series complements the guidance and recommendations developed by the IPv6 Working Group to help the U.S. government transition to IPv6," said John McManus, co-chair of the CIO Council's IPv6 Transition Working Group. "It is a great example of the leadership and cooperation we're looking for from industry to help educate government on how to effectively evolve their network to be IPv6 capable."

Highlights of Volume III include critical routing and addressing issues to consider during the transition, routing architectures and approaches suitable for IPv6 deployment, transition tools and checklists, and the steps necessary to justify and acquire IPv6 addresses.

"Juniper Networks'Essential U.S. Government Agency Transition Guide to IPv6 Routing and Addressing comes at a vital point in the transition process when agencies are seeking solutions to IPv6 address acquisition and routing management," said Haywood Talcove, vice president, Public Sector Americas, Juniper Networks. "The routing and addressing decisions government agencies make now will greatly affect their ability to fully utilize advanced IPv6 capabilities in the future to meet agency goals and missions."

The Juniper Networks' IPv6 World Report Series was launched in January 2006 to provide extensive insight and counsel for U.S. government agencies' transition to IPv6. Volume I focused on overall transition planning, while Volume II highlighted the importance of understanding IPv6 technology requirements to enable the next generation Internet.

Organizations contributing to the IPv6 World Report Series include civilian, intelligence, defense and state and local government agencies, research and development networks and private industry. Additionally, the report received significant direction from organizations that have successfully implemented IPv6 in Asia and other areas of the globe. Executive summaries and volumes of the full IPv6 World Report Series can be downloaded at www.juniperIPv6.com.
