Juniper Networks Joins Microsoft SecureIT Alliance

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 12, 2006 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that it has joined the SecureIT Alliance formed by Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT). The SecureIT Alliance unites and expands security partnerships to enhance future product interoperability and refine best practices for product deployments.

Juniper Networks and Microsoft customers and partners benefit by having access to the SecureIT community site, which includes information on security solutions and provides a forum for collaborative dialogue. The SecureIT Alliance web site also offers new and existing customers a searchable membership product & solutions area to help IT professionals discover security-related information, such as business case studies, technical white papers, best practice guidance, strategic partnerships, product data sheets, news and public events. Customers will benefit by having better information on integrated security solutions and services offerings in one convenient place, without needing to navigate to dozens of Web sites to find this content.

"Microsoft is pleased to have Juniper join the SecureIT Alliance," said Gerry Albert, group manager at Microsoft Corporation. "As a leading network security firm, Juniper's membership in our Alliance will help assure mutual customers that our platforms and products are interoperable with the highest levels of security."

"The SecureIT Alliance is an important industry initiative and we recognize the strategic value of being a member," said Craig Strachman, director, Business Development at Juniper Networks. "Our participation strengthens our existing partnership with Microsoft and other leading security technology providers. We look forward to working with more than 70 Alliance members to develop innovative security solutions that provide secure and assured communications."

About SecureIT Alliance

Announced Oct. 6, 2005, the SecureIT Alliance is a group of industry partners working together to develop security solutions for the Microsoft® platform. The founding members range from well-established security providers to innovative startups. The alliance members share a dedication to providing enhanced security solutions to benefit customers.

The SecureIT Alliance has two central themes - increased customer awareness of available security solutions and partnerships; and increased industry collaboration to ease building enhanced security solutions.

Through the Alliance community Web site, members can more efficiently and effectively work together to develop innovative security solutions. The Alliance provides a forum through which members can receive new platform information from Microsoft and collaborate on issues such as secure-code best practices, interoperability, and integration of products and services, as well as public communication of security-solutions content.

The SecureIT Alliance community site can be found at www.SecureITAlliance.org. The new community site is available to the public, particularly IT security professionals, to explore helpful information on the diverse industry ecosystem of security solutions and partnerships.
