Network World Names Juniper Networks SSL VPN 'Best Product' for Security Infrastructure
Secure Access SSL VPN Sweeps Competition for Second Consecutive Year to Win 'Clear Choice' and 'Best Security Infrastructure Product' Awards
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Mar. 6, 2006 -- Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that its Secure Access (SA) Secure Sockets Layer Virtual Private Network (SSL VPN) appliance has been awarded "Best Product" in the Security Infrastructure category by Network World magazine for the second consecutive year. This award comes after Juniper Networks' SA 6000 swept the competition in Network World's groundbreaking competitive test of SSL VPN products published in December 2005, which resulted in Juniper Networks being named the "Clear Choice" winner for SSL VPN.
Network World Lab Alliance member Joel Snyder called the Secure Access SSL VPN "the best choice for most enterprise deployments among the SSL VPN products tested." Snyder also commented, "Juniper steps to the front of the line with a massive set of enterprise features. In every category, including end-point security, detailed access control and interoperability testing, Juniper leads the pack."
Network World tested more than 200 products across a wide range of technologies to come up with the "2006 Best of the Tests" designations. Network World categorized products based on the most critical network function they address and selected 48 finalists. 10 Winners were ultimately chosen, including the Juniper Networks Secure Access SSL VPN, which stood out as the cream-of-the-crop in the Security Infrastructure category. In determining Juniper Networks as the best security infrastructure product winner, Network World also took into consideration reader interest in the blowout SSL VPN test, which had more than 70,000 Web hits in just a three-week period when it was first published.
