The Globe and Mail Rolls Out Juniper Networks for Secure Remote Access
SSL VPN and Intrusion Prevention to Deliver Advanced Use and Threat Control Over Employee, Contractor and Visitor Network Access
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 16, 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that The Globe and Mail, Canada's leading daily national newspaper, has deployed the Juniper Networks Secure Sockets Layer Virtual Private Network (SSL VPN) and intrusion detection and prevention (IDP) products for secure and assured local-area-network (LAN), intranet and extranet access. Juniper Networks' Secure Access SSL VPN and IDP products provide comprehensive security and access control throughout news bureaus and offices spanning seven of Canada's major cities.

The Globe and Mail selected and deployed Juniper Networks Secure Access (SA) 4000 SSL VPN and IDP 1100 appliances. With as many as 70 percent of its staff and contractors accessing the internal network at anytime, the SA 4000s create secure customer and partner extranets with no infrastructure changes, no DMZ deployments, and no software agents for end-users to install. The SA 4000s allow The Globe and Mail to secure access to the corporate intranet with differentiated rules for its reporters and outside contractors granting access to the resources they need any time, anywhere.
Security for The Globe and Mail's corporate network is provided by Juniper Networks IDP-1100s. The IDP appliances protect the network from viruses, trojans, spyware, keyloggers, and other malware in real time. Located on the edge of The Globe and Mail network, the IDP appliances analyze and sift through all traffic entering and exiting the network, ensuring maximum threat control across the online website and corporate intranet.
