Juniper Networks Names New Executives to Leadership Team

SUNNYVALE, Calif., January 10, 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced key changes to its management team as part of a structured succession plan. Eddie Minshull, who has successfully led Juniper's EMEA operation for the last five years as vice president, Sales, will assume the position of executive vice president, Worldwide Field Operations, responsible for Juniper's global Sales and Service organization. Jeff Lindholm, who has led Juniper's worldwide sales organization for the last three and a half years, becomes chief marketing officer (CMO).

Jim Dolce, who has served as executive vice president, Worldwide Field Operations is leaving the company to pursue personal interests outside of Juniper. Dolce joined Juniper Networks in 2002 with the acquisition of Unisphere Networks and is succeeded by two of his key lieutenants, Minshull and Lindholm.

Minshull joined Juniper from Alcatel where he held the position of president, Northern Europe and chief executive officer (CEO), UK & Ireland. As president, Northern Europe, Minshull was a key member of the Northern European management team at Alcatel, an organization of approximately 10,000 people with revenues in the region of $5 billion. Prior to Alcatel, Minshull held senior executive roles at Newbridge Networks and Compaq in North America.

A seasoned industry executive with over 20 years experience, Lindholm has played a central role in the growth of Juniper. He brings keen strategic insight and an in-depth knowledge of Juniper's customers and solutions portfolio to the role. Prior to Juniper, Lindholm held senior executive positions in both sales and marketing at Unisphere, Redstone Communications, Bay Networks, New Oak Communications, Motorola and Wellfleet Communications.

Carol Mills, executive vice president and general manager, Infrastructure Products Group (IPG), has decided to leave Juniper to increase her Board of Directors activity and pursue other outside interests. During her tenure at Juniper Networks the IPG portfolio has grown substantially, along with Juniper's position as a key strategic partner to service providers and enterprise customers.

Kim Perdikou, who most recently worked for Mills as the associate general manager, IPG, will assume an interim role as acting executive vice president and general manager of IPG while an expanded search is conducted. Perdikou joined Juniper Networks in 2000 as chief information officer (CIO) with responsibility for driving Juniper's global information systems strategy. In addition, Perdikou played a key role as a customer advocate. Prior to this she served as CIO at Women.com where she built the IT infrastructure and sales operations function for this online business. Perdikou also held the position of vice president, Global Networks at Reader's Digest, as well as leadership positions at Knight Ridder and Dun & Bradstreet.

Jef Graham, executive vice president, Application Products Group (APG), is leaving Juniper Networks to become CEO of a private company. Paulette Altmaier, a seasoned executive who brings a wealth of strategic and operational experience to the company, assumes the position of executive vice president, APG, responsible for driving the continued success of the APG portfolio. Altmaier joins Juniper from Cisco, where during her nine year tenure, she held the position of vice president and general manager, responsible for a $1 billion product line and led the creation of many key platforms, including the new integrated services access router portfolio.

Each of these appointments will report to chairman and CEO, Scott Kriens.

"I'm pleased to announce a smooth and well structured transition as we welcome Paulette to Juniper, while also creating opportunity within the company from our existing management team with Eddie, Jeff and Kim," commented Kriens. "I'd like to personally thank Carol and Jef for their contributions to the company and for their unwavering support of Juniper. In particular, I'd like to thank Jim for his leadership, and for building a world class Field Operations organization known for its consistent focus and execution in the market place. With these appointments and the strength of the Juniper team, I have every confidence in our continued success together as we move into 2006."
