LS Cable Lays Secure Business Foundation with Juniper Networks
Korean Cable Conglomerate Deploys NetScreen Security Appliances in Preparation for ERP Implementation
SUNNYVALE, Calif., December 19, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that LS Cable, the Korean cable manufacturing conglomerate, has deployed a variety of Juniper Networks firewall/virtual private network (VPN) security appliances to protect its infrastructure.
"We have been examining the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to increase our business productivity," said SuYeol Jeon, manager, Information Strategy Team, LS Cable. "However, before deploying an ERP system, the first step for us is to ensure our infrastructure is completely protected from a wide variety of internal and external network-based threats. After evaluating the many different security solutions in the market, we chose the Juniper Networks portfolio of firewall/VPN security appliances. The Juniper solution now gives us the confidence to move forward with our plans for ERP implementation."
LS Cable deployed the Juniper Networks NetScreen-500, NetScreen-200 and NetScreen-5GT appliances, which provide combined firewall/VPN capability and essential security functions, such as Stateful Inspection firewall with Deep Inspection technology for application-level protection, and denial of service (DoS) mitigation functions.
"We selected the NetScreen appliances for their future-proof feature set and Juniper's excellent technical support," added Jeon. "The appliances were easily deployed and the solution is now being used to protect our ERP system, helping with traffic prioritization and providing overall WAN performance improvement. We are also able to ensure business continuity through a bypass VPN connection, enabled by the NetScreen appliances, in case of a network outage within our infrastructure. This contingency measure is crucial for our ERP deployment."
