Magic Quadrants Position Juniper Networks in Leaders Quadrant for SSL VPN and Network IPS Appliances
Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 14, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the "Leaders" quadrant of the recently published 3Q05 North America Secure Sockets Layer Virtual Private Network1 (SSL VPN) and 2H05 Network Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) Appliances2 Magic Quadrant reports. Juniper's placement in the Leaders quadrant is based on the company's completeness of vision and ability to execute in both the SSL VPN and IPS markets.
According to Gartner, "Leaders" are vendors who are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction, and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market. Their actions raise the competitive bar for all products in the market and they can change the course of the industry. According to Gartner, to remain in the Leaders quadrant for SSL VPN technology, vendors must excel in mobile access and protection, as well as dominate in sales. To remain in the Leaders quadrant for IPS technology, vendors must have demonstrated a track record of delivering successfully in enterprise IPS deployments and winning in competitive assessments.
