Juniper Networks Wins Three Network Computing Magazine Awards

ISG 2000 Receives Editor's Choice Award in Enterprise-Class Firewall Test

SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 18, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) announced today its NetScreen-ISG 2000 firewall and virtual private network security system recently won both the Network Computing Magazine "Clash of the Titans" Editor's Choice Award and its multifunction appliance Well-Connected Award. Additionally, the Juniper Networks Intrusion Detection and Prevention 1000 system won the magazine's Well-Connected Award in the intrusion detection category.

In Network Computing's enterprise-class, gigabit-capable, Deep Inspection firewall product review, the Juniper Networks NetScreen-ISG 2000 outperformed against five competitive products. In a multi-test environment, the products were judged against test criteria of: performance, intrusion detection system/intrusion prevention system, virtual private network (VPN), failover, logging, price and intangibles.

"The Juniper Networks NetScreen-ISG 2000 remained the class of the test, leaving nothing but dust in its tracks and outperforming rivals in both our firewall and VPN performance tests," said Adrian Peters from Neohapsis, an independent testing lab for Network Computing Magazine. "For consistent top speed, the ISG 2000 was untouchable and its native HTTPS interface was easy to use and gave us all the necessary tools to manage tasks from load balancing to firewall rule creation."

The Juniper Networks IDP 1000, also a previous Network Computing Editor's Choice Award winner, was chosen in the network intrusion prevention category as the Well-Connected winner for its solid professional interface that allows security experts to understand context for attacks. The NetScreen-ISG 2000 won the Well-Connected award in the multifunction appliance category for its powerful firewall, VPN and intrusion-prevention functionality.

"The ISG 2000 and IDP 1000 systems represent a class of purpose-built products that combat sophisticated attacks while enabling optimal network performance," said David Flynn, vice president of Products, Security Products Group at Juniper Networks. "Winning these three Network Computing Magazine awards is a testament to Juniper Networks' focus on developing innovative, best-in-class technology to deliver secure and assured networking solutions to customers around the world."
