Copel Boosts Network Security with Juniper Networks Intrusion Detection and Prevention Solution
Juniper Networks IDP 500 Protects the Network from Harmful Traffic
SUNNYVALE, CA - January 25, 2005 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that Copel, one of the largest Brazilian electric energy companies, is securing its IP/MPLS/Gigabit Ethernet network with Juniper Networks Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) system. This security solution is being provided through Damovo do Brasil, a global services company offering data, mobility and voice solutions.
In April of last year, Damovo was selected by Copel in a public bid to provide Juniper Networks E-and M-series routing platforms for deployment in its new IP/MPLS/Gigabit Ethernet network. As part of its network evolution, Copel is now also implementing Juniper Networks NetScreen-IDP 500 systems to identify and stop network and application level attacks at the edge of the IP/MPLS core before they inflict any damages.
Juniper Networks NetScreen-IDP platforms provide inline attack protection against worms, viruses and Trojans. Using multiple detection methods, Juniper Networks NetScreen-IDP products combine an open signature format with extensive customization capabilities to accurately identify attacks and minimize the number of false positives.
