Juniper Networks NetScreen Firewall/VPNs Named Products of the Year by Information Security, SearchSecurity.com and TheInfoPro
NetScreen-5GT and -5XT Earn Gold Award in the Security Appliances Category
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 16, 2004 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that its NetScreen-5GT and -5XT firewall/VPN appliances were named as the 2004 "Products of the Year" in the Security Appliances category by Information Security magazine, SearchSecurity.com and TheInfoPro. The third annual awards competition was published in this month's issue of Information Security.
"Juniper Networks NetScreen 5 series firewall/VPN appliances hit the bull's eye for remote offices and telecommuters," stated the Gold Award article published in Information Security. "Juniper Networks gave its security initiative instant credibility when it acquired NetScreen Technologies earlier this year. The awards were presented by the editors of TechTarget's Information Security, SearchSecurity.com and TheInfoPro (www.theinfopro.net). A panel of security experts, including editors and security managers from more than 270 companies, selected the "Products of the Year" from more than 1,200 security products introduced and shipped in 2004. Winning products were judged on a variety of criteria, including brand and reputation, quality of product and technical support, technical innovation, strategic vision, and competitive positioning.

"For that reason, the Information Security 'Products of the Year' Awards rely on the evaluations of the infosecurity managers actually using these products.
