Juniper Networks Protects Against Latest Microsoft Windows Vulnerabilities

Juniper Networks IDP Solutions Offer Same-Day Coverage of New Spoofing Vulnerability in ISA Server 2000 and Proxy Server 2.0

SUNNYVALE, Calif., November 9, 2004 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced coverage for the MS04-039 vulnerability announced by Microsoft Corporation today. The Juniper Networks Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) products can protect against this vulnerability.

  • MS04-039 Vulnerability in ISA Server 2000 and Proxy Server 2.0 Could Allow Internet Content Spoofing (888258).

Potential Impact of Compromises

This is a spoofing vulnerability that exists in ISA Server 2000 and Proxy Server 2.0 that could enable an attacker to spoof trusted Internet content. Users believing that they are viewing trusted content could, in fact, be visiting a malicious Web site. However, an attacker would first have to persuade a user to visit the attacker's site to attempt to exploit this vulnerability. This vulnerability has been assigned an "Important" severity rating by Microsoft.
