Juniper Networks Expands Distribution Agreement with Ingram Micro

Expands Availability of Juniper Networks Networking Solutions in the United States

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 11, 2004 - Demonstrating its continued commitment to be a world-class channel company, Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced it has expanded its distribution agreement with Ingram Micro, the world's largest IT distributor.

Under the extended agreement, Ingram Micro, already Juniper Network's primary security-products distributor, will now offer the manufacturer's entire portfolio of networking and security solutions to resellers in the United States. The agreement represents a major milestone in building Juniper Networks channel infrastructure and helps to ensure that solution providers can meet customer's networking and security challenges.

In addition to the Juniper Networks' NetScreen security solutions - integrated firewall and virtual private network (VPN), intrusion detection and prevention and secure access solutions - Ingram Micro will distribute Juniper Networks' enterprise routing portfolio, including the J-series and entry level M-series products.

"This agreement not only expands Ingram Micro's current NetScreen security solutions offering, but it also offers additional options for solution providers serving the SMB and enterprise networking markets," said Paul Bay, Ingram Micro's vice president of product management. "Ingram Micro is excited about the possibilities and increased choice that these product lines bring to our reseller partners' networking and security capabilities."

"As we build our channel infrastructure and continue to deliver on the components of our J-Partner Program, which is designed to make it easier for channel partners to drive demand and capture new business opportunities, we are pleased to extend availability of our offerings through Ingram Micro," said Tushar Kothari, vice president, Worldwide Channels, Juniper Networks. "With Ingram Micro's past success in distribution of our NetScreen product line, we are confident that this agreement can help drive reseller adoption of Juniper Networks' platforms."

About The J-Partner Program

The J-Partner Program delivers a variety of programs to develop and support partners' sales, technical, marketing, operations and management efforts. The program is targeted at channel partners and solutions providers that deliver next-generation IP services tailored to specific markets and application requirements.

The program, introduced in July and available globally, offers a broad range of partner-education opportunities optimized for individual job functions. Specific training, authorization and certification options are being designed for sales representatives, and for pre- and post-sales technical support teams.
