Optynex Telecom Selects Juniper Networks for New IP/MPLS Network in Panama

M-series Platform Enables Optynex Telecom to Offer New Secure and Scalable Services

SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 8, 2004 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that Optynex Telecom, one of the leading telecom service providers in the Republic of Panama, has selected the Juniper Networks M-series routing platform for deployment in its new IP/MPLS network. This project, developed in partnership with the systems integrator and solutions provider, Solunet, is delivering high performance services, reliability and security to the Optynex network.

Constructed with a clean separation between the control plane, forwarding plane and services plane, the M-series supports multiple services on a single platform without performance degradation. Examples include Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), network-based security, real-time voice and video, bandwidth on demand, rich multicast of premium content, IPv6 services and granular accounting among others.

According to Felipe Tribaldos, sales manager at Solunet, the quick implementation and superior performance of the M-series went beyond Optynex Telecom's expectations, particularly when compared with the competing routing platform previously implemented in the network.
