Juniper Networks Named SSL VPN Market Share Leader by Infonetics Research

Infonetics Reports that Juniper Has 45 Percent of the SSL VPN Market

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 8, 2004 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that it is the market share leader in the SSL VPN market, according to Infonetics Research, Inc.'s "VPN and Firewall Appliances and Software Quarterly Worldwide Market Share and Forecasts for 1Q04" report published last month. According to Infonetics Research, Juniper Networks garnered 45 percent revenue market share within the SSL VPN product category during 1Q'04, in a market forecasted to reach $663 million by CY07, according to the report.

"The development of (SSL VPN) technology created a primary driver for the market," stated the report, written by Jeff Wilson, senior analyst at Infonetics Research. "Using these products, companies can roll out remote access to their entire user population without having to incur access charges or roll out/manage software on each remote access user's PC. We believe that over the next three years the technology will cause many companies to offer remote access to a broader set of employees, possibly bumping the average from 20 percent or less to over 50 percent, greatly expanding the dollar opportunity for remote access solutions overall."
