CTBC to Offer New Broadband Services Based on Routing Platforms from Juniper Networks

E-series Delivers Carrier Requirements at the Network Edge

SUNNYVALE, Calif., October 29, 2003—Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that CTBC will deploy its E-series routing platform in its Next Generation Network designed to deliver advanced IP-based broadband services, called NetSuper, over its Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) network. The project is deployed in partnership with Ericsson.

The E-series combines carrier-class routing, broadband subscriber management and IP services in a single platform. This enables CTBC to offer high-speed access and other revenue-generating IP services while also reducing operational expenses. Powered by an innovative programmable ASIC-based architecture, the E-series routers are ideal platforms for deploying IP services at the carrier edge.

"Our partnership with Juniper Networks will enable us to enhance our service offerings," Eduardo Parra, marketing and sales director of CTBC, pointed out. "The design of the E-series enables us to increase revenues, while also lowering operational costs and improving the quality of service to our customers."

"CTBC is establishing a strong foundation for the delivery of new broadband services," said Tim Lambie, vice president of Latin America Sales at Juniper Networks. "With the E-series, all edge services can be supported from a single platform across the entire geographic area, eliminating the costly, resource-intensive process of using multiple types of equipment at each site."
