Telstraclear Deploys Juniper Networks Routers for New Nationwide VPN Services Delivery
Ericsson Supplies ERX and M-series Routers That Combine To Provide Secure and Reliable IP Infrastructure
Sunnyvale, CA - August 6, 2002 — Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR), a leading provider of trusted infrastructures for the New Public Network, today announced that TelstraClear, New Zealand's second-largest full service communications company, is deploying additional Juniper Networks ERX Edge and M-series Routers as part of the expansion of its Private IP broadband and metro networks. With the Juniper Networks routers, TelstraClear is expanding its high-speed service coverage to several New Zealand centers. Juniper Networks worldwide distribution partner, Ericsson, is the prime integrator for this IP infrastructure solution.
TelstraClear's extensive customer base includes New Zealand's largest postal and financial institutions. The Private IP service seamlessly connects company data networks. TelstraClear selected the ERX router for this application because of its full support of the Martini draft standards for transparent Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs) over Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS). In addition, TelstraClear is also leveraging the ERX virtual router functionality to provide wholesale access and Internet peering functions.
