Juniper Networks Appoints Vice President of Marketing
Christine Heckart Joins Juniper Networks Executive Team
Sunnyvale, CA - June 13, 2002 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR), a leading provider of trusted infrastructures for the New Public Network, today announced the appointment of industry thought-leader, Christine Heckart to its executive team. Heckart joins the company as vice president of marketing. In this position, Heckart will oversee all facets of corporate marketing, working closely with the executive team on corporate strategy as Juniper Networks continues to expand its product and customer base across the core, edge, mobile and cable markets.
Prior to joining Juniper Networks, Heckart was president of strategic consulting firm TeleChoice, Inc. Heckart was named one of the "Top 10 Power Thinkers" in 2001 and one of the "50 Most Powerful People in the Industry" by Network World in its annual Power Issue. Prior to joining TeleChoice in 1994, Heckart led new product development for data services at WilTel (now part of Worldcom), where she defined and helped launch the industry's first frame relay, managed internetworking and ATM services in 1991.

Heckart brings 14 years of experience in developing business and marketing strategies and positioning new technologies and innovations for the market. During her career she has worked with hundreds of industry entrepreneurs and market leaders to create new market strategies, categories and services around innovative technologies. Heckart graduated Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1988 with a degree in economics. She is the author of two technology books, "ATM for Dummies" and "The Guide to Frame Relay Networking."
