NTT Communications and Juniper Networks Sign Global Agreement
Juniper Networks Established as Global Supplier of Internet Infrastructure to NTT Communications
Sunnyvale, CA - May 22, 2002 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR), a leading provider of trusted infrastructures for the New Public Network, today announced a global agreement with NTT Communications Corporations (NTT Com), the global service provider and subsidiary of the NTT Group, that establishes Juniper Networks as the supplier of Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure and services to NTT Com to support the build out of its high-performance IP network.
The agreement establishes a framework for NTT Com and Juniper Networks to work together globally to provide NTT Com with high quality, reliable and scalable IP networking systems based on Juniper Networks M-series and T-series Internet routing platforms. In addition, Juniper Networks will provide global service and support.

The contract is a further step in NTT Com's strategy to build the most reliable, competitive and cost-effective IP network and become a global IP carrier. Under the agreement, Juniper Networks will provide NTT Com with robust, scalable and secure IP infrastructure to enable cost-effective IP network growth and the introduction of new profitable IP services. Juniper Networks will work with NTT Com to introduce new IP services and features for NTT Com's global customers. Consistent with Juniper Networks customer driven approach to innovation and development, Juniper Networks will work with NTT Com to understand its current and future IP networking requirements.
Through this agreement, NTT Com gains a powerful ally in Juniper Networks as it extends its IP network globally. With the recent introduction of the T640 Internet Routing Node offering seamless multi-terabit scaling and significantly reduced capital and operational costs, Juniper Networks is uniquely positioned to help NTT Com to create a flexible, cost-effective IP network based on industry-leading technology.
