Resellers Worldwide Applaud Juniper Networks Entry into Access Market

Sunnyvale, CA - September 19, 2000 - Resellers worldwide of Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR), a leading provider of next-generation IP infrastructure systems, are praising Juniper Networks new solutions for the provider edge. "These new products really round out Juniper Networks dedicated access solution and increase our business opportunity. The high density and outstanding performance of the M5 and M10 routers appeals to those customers who are looking to radically increase their network access capacity and reduce their power and space usage," said Jim Mann, vice president of sales at Solunet Inc., an industry leading integrator and total network solutions provider in the US.

Solunet's customers have been waiting for a killer edge solution with the capabilities of the M5 and M10 routers, new interfaces, and JUNOS Release 4.1 software. With the arrival of this new edge solution, Juniper Networks brings its industry-leading IP prowess to bear on the edge of the network in addition to the core. "We are completely confident in the business potential for the new M5 and M10 routers. We're one of the first solution providers taking early shipments to ensure our customers can experience the immediate benefits of Juniper Networks edge solutions," said Jim Mann.

Juniper Networks total edge solution includes two new small but powerful M-series platforms, the M5 and M10 Internet backbone routers, new T1/E1 and channelized DS-3 interfaces perfect for dedicated access applications, along with new access features for JUNOS Internet software. The new interfaces and JUNOS software are available across the entire M-series product family (the M20, M40 and M160 routers), optimizing all of them for both core and edge applications. The bottom line is improved efficiency and lower operational costs since the same JUNOS software runs on all Juniper Networks routers.

Telindus K-NET, a European-based system integrator, has also placed an early, substantial order for the new M5 and M10 routers. "We can now take Juniper Networks's high performance, rock solid reliability, and scalability from the network core right through to the provider edge," said Rob Kelly, Sales Director at Telindus K-NET. "Purpose-built for the Internet, Juniper Networks routers are the best-in-class products that our customers demand. The common architecture, software, and services across all platforms really simplifies how we deploy and support these products for our customers."
