riodata Selects Juniper Networks Routers for Pan-Germany IP Backbone
Mountain View, CA - June 13, 2000 — Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR), a leading provider of IP infrastructure systems, today announced that riodata, a new German ISP, has selected Juniper Networks M20 Internet backbone routers for its German IP backbone. riodata provides business users with flexible high-speed Internet services based on a nationwide DSL access network. The supporting IP backbone infrastructure will be based on M20 routers deployed in all the major cities across Germany.
"We need a network robust and fast enough to provide reliable high quality services to our subscribers. The performance of the M20 router really stood out in the tests and the deployment and operation of the M20 router is straightforward due to its full support of JUNOS Internet software," said Alex Stadler, CEO of riodata. "In addition the M20 routers provide us with an excellent infrastructure for the Voice-over-IP services which we plan to offer later this year," Stadler concluded.

In addition to the usual Internet services, including e-mail and web space, in the near future riodata will offer services such as Virtual Private Networks, intranets and extranet, voice over IP, and applications hosting. The deal was facilitated by Juniper Networks recently appointed distributor for Germany, PanDacom who will also be responsible for the installation and after sales services.
