Juniper Networks Expands Asia-Pacific Presence with Acquisition of Pacific Advantage Ltd.
Mountain View, CA - January 18, 2000 — Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq:JNPR), a leading provider of next-generation IP infrastructure systems, today announced the expansion of its service and support capabilities with the acquisition of Pacific Advantage Ltd. (PAL). The additional staffing and expertise levels will provide sales, service and support capabilities for Juniper Networks seven Asia-Pacific offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur, New Delhi, and Tokyo. The staff of Pacific Advantage will be integrated into Juniper Networks Asia Pacific sales force, which is headed by Charles Will, Operations Director, Asia Pacific and Latin America. "With the acquisition of Pacific Advantage, Juniper Networks will be able to increase our sales, service and support capabilities for regional and local service providers as well as for our current multinational service provider customers such as Cable & Wireless, PSINet, and UUNET" said Charles Will.
Under the terms of agreement with PAL, Juniper Networks common stock, worth approximately $4 million, will be exchanged for all outstanding shares of PAL. Juniper Networks expects a charge of approximately $350,000 per quarter, on an ongoing basis, for goodwill associated with the acquisition.
