Restrictions and Recommendations

The following restrictions and recommendations apply to Juniper Networks SDX Application Library Release 6.4.0.

• We have tested the following application servers with the SDX Web applications:

• JBoss 3.2.6 (http://www.jboss.org)

The following application servers should also work with the SDX Web applications:

• BEA WebLogic Server version 7.0 (http://www.bea.com)
• Oracle Application Server version 9.03 (http://www.oracle.com)

• The Advanced Services Gateway allows gateway clients to interact with SDX components through a SOAP version 1.2 interface.
• The Dynamic Service Activation Web application requires an object request broker (ORB) to be installed and configured. The JRE package (UMCjre) included with the core Release 6.4.0 SDX-300 software (not the application library software) is preconfigured with JacORB (http://www.jacorb.org). JacORB meets the requirements for these gateway Web applications. If you use a different JRE, you must ensure that it is configured with an ORB that complies with the Object Management Group's CORBA 2.6 standard (http://www.omg.org).
• The VTAs have been tested with the following databases:

• MySQL version 4.0.13 (http://www.mysql.com)
• Oracle Database version 9i (http://www.oracle.com)

• For IDP integration, we tested the SDX software with Release 3.0 of the IDP software.
• The Threat Mitigation Application has been tested with the following databases:

• MySQL version 5.0 (http://www.mysql.com)
• Oracle Database 10g Express Edition (http://www.oracle.com)
• PostgreSQL 8.1.2 (http://www.postgresql.org)

• For DPI integration, we tested the SDX software with the Ellacoya SLE version 6.2.0-2, and the SDX software is compatible with the 6.2.0 release. SDX software includes the SLE 6.2.0-2 client library. We recommend that you upgrade to the client library that comes with your SLE software.
