Configuring QoS for Voice Calls

You can configure a default Differentiated Services (DiffServ) code point (DSCP) value that the VPG uses for outgoing traffic when the DSCP value is not already defined by the PGC. All eight bits are exposed, but only the six leading bits are used by the packet. You can embed other data in the other two bits. The default value is 0x00.

The DiffServ package is defined in Annex A.2 of Gateway control protocol v3, ITU-T Recommendation H.248.1, September 2005.

Step-by-Step Procedure

To configure default values for H.248 segmentation properties:

  1. Access the configuration of the H.248 DiffServ properties.
  2. Configure a value for the DSCP.
