See the following sections:
- advertise-interval milliseconds;
- [edit interfaces interface-name sonet-options aps]
Modify the Automatic Protection Switching (APS) interval at which the protect and working routers send packets to their neighbors to advertise that they are operational. A router considers its neighbor to be operational for a period, called the hold time, that is, by default, three times the advertisement interval.

For J-series Services Routers only. On Ethernet interfaces configured for DLSw Ethernet redundancy, configure the advertisement interval of DLSw neighbors on the network.
All routers in the redundancy group must use the same advertisement interval.

For Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 10-Gigabit Ethernet, and logical tunnel interfaces only, configure the interval between VRRP advertisement packets.
All routers in the VRRP group must use the same advertisement interval.

For Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, 10-Gigabit Ethernet, and logical tunnel interfaces only, configure the interval between VRRP advertisement packets.
All routers in the VRRP group configured by the vrrp-inet6-group statement must use the same advertisement interval.
