User Interfaces
You can use two user interfaces to monitor, configure, troubleshoot, and manage the router—the JUNOS command-line interface (CLI) and the J-Web interface.
The CLI is a straightforward command interface. You type commands on a single line, and the commands are executed when you press the
Enterkey. The CLI provides command help and command completion. It also provides Emacs-style keyboard sequences that allow you to move around on a command line and scroll through a buffer that contains recently executed commands. The J-Web graphical user interface (GUI) allows you to monitor, configure, troubleshoot, and manage the router on a client by means of a Web browser with Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) or HTTP over Secure Sockets Layer (HTTPS) enabled. The J-Web interface provides access to configuration statements supported by the router, so you can configure it without using the CLI. The J-Web graphical user interface comes standard on J-series Services Routers and is an optional software package that you can install on M-series and T-series routers.
