Unsupported Features

The JUNOSe Release 7.0.4 documentation set describes some features that are present in the code but that have not yet been fully qualified by Juniper Networks. If you use any of these features before they have been fully qualified, it is your responsibility to ensure that the feature operates correctly in your targeted configuration.

The following features are present but unsupported in this release.

ATM

You can use the new monitor atm vc command to display bit rate and packet rate statistics over a specified time interval for one or more ATM virtual circuits (VCs) configured on the router. You must use the monitor atm vc command in a dedicated console or terminal session for the duration of the monitoring session.

By default, the router uses a 5-second time interval between polls to calculate bit rates and packet rates for each specified VC. You can include the optional load-interval keyword to specify a nondefault time interval in the range 5-30 seconds. You can also include the optional display-time-of-day keyword to display the time at which the router calculates statistics for the current interval.

E320 Router

In the current release, all of the following features are unsupported on the E320 router.

CAUTION: Some of the features might appear to be configurable in the software, but we strongly recommend that you do not attempt to configure them. Attempting to configure these features can cause system errors.

In the current release, the ES2-S1 10GE IOA does not support the 10GBASE-SR and 10GBASE-ER 10-gigabit small form-factor transceivers (XFPs).

Ethernet

You can use the new monitor vlan interface command to display bit rate and packet rate statistics over a specified time interval for one or more VLAN subinterfaces configured on the router. You must use the monitor vlan interface command in a dedicated console or terminal session for the duration of the monitoring session.

By default, the router uses a 5-second time interval between polls to calculate bit rates and packet rates for each specified VLAN subinterface. You can include the optional load-interval keyword to specify a nondefault time interval in the range 5-30 seconds. You can also include the optional display-time-of-day keyword to display the time at which the router calculates statistics for the current interval.

QoS

You can associate QoS scheduler nodes and queues with S-VLAN subinterfaces. In addition, you can attach QoS profiles to S-VLAN subinterfaces.

To configure S-VLANs, you must assign an S-VLAN ID to a VLAN. S-VLAN subinterfaces stack above Ethernet interfaces, but below the VLAN subinterface to which you apply the S-VLAN ID.

You can now use the svlan interface type with the following commands:

For more information about using this feature, see Appendix B, S-VLANs for QoS, in the JUNOSe 7.0.1 Release Notes.

You can now display all of the QoS profiles attached to an ATM VP or S-VLAN interface by using the show qos-profile references command. Use the explicit keyword to display attachments for QoS profiles only on the specified interface and not QoS profiles stacked above the interface.

For more information about using this feature, see Appendix B, S-VLANs for QoS, in the JUNOSe 7.0.1 Release Notes.

Stateful SRP Switchover (High Availability)

The stateful SRP switchover feature has not been qualified for the following applications:
Remote Access

DHCP proxy client

L2TP LNS and L2TP dialout

System

In addition to SRP module hotfixes, you can use line module hotfixes to update an operational E-series router. These hotfixes consist of one or more image fixes specific to a particular model of module or to a module type, depending on the fix. When a line module hotfix is activated, each image fix contained in the hotfix is activated on all modules of that type that are installed in the router. When existing line modules come online during startup and when new line modules are inserted in the chassis, image fixes for each applicable line module are requested and activated during module startup.

For detailed information on deploying and using hotfixes, see Appendix C, Updating the Router with JUNOSe Hotfix Files.
