Supported Modules and Features

This section describes ATM feature support on E-series modules.

For more information about the physical layer characteristics of the modules described in this section, including the numbering schemes, see JUNOSe Physical Layer Configuration Guide.

For information about the protocols and applications that ATM modules support on ERX-7xx models, ERX-14xx models, and the ERX-310 router, see E-series Module Guide, Appendix A, Module Protocol Support.

Module Capabilities

The level of support for certain ATM capabilities varies depending on the module. Table 8 lists the specific differences in the capabilities of the modules.

Keep the following points in mind when you review Table 8:

Virtual Channel Support

The router supports up to 16,000 virtual channels on each port (for a total of 64,000 VCs), depending on the type of module and how much memory it has, as listed in Table 9.
