Module Capabilities
The level of support for certain ATM capabilities varies depending on the module. Table 8 shows the specific differences in the capabilities of the modules.
Keep the following points in mind as you review Table 8:
- The number of VP tunnels varies with the number of ports in the associated line module. For information about the maximum number of ATM VP tunnels supported per port for all line modules, see E-series Release Notes, Appendix A, System Maximums.
- Traffic rates (for tunnels or circuits) on T3/E3 ATM modules must be a minimum of 64 Kbps.
NOTE: Support for the OC3 (dual port) line module has been deprecated.
Line Modules
The following features are supported only on OC3-4 and OC12 line modules:
Virtual Channel Support
The router supports up to 16,000 virtual channels on each port (for a total of 64,000 VCs), depending on the type of module and how much memory it has, as shown in Table 9.
F4 OAM Support
F4 OAM flows are supported only on the following E-series I/O modules:
IPv6 Support
ATM line cards support basic, dual-stacked Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) on the following E-series I/O modules:
