Module Capabilities

The level of support for certain ATM capabilities varies depending on the module. Table 1-5 shows the specific differences in the capabilities of the modules.



Note: Support for the OC3 (dual port) line module has been deprecated.

Line Modules

The following features are supported only on OC3-4 and OC12 line modules:

Virtual Channel Support

The system supports up to 16,000 virtual channels on each port (for a total of 64,000 VCs), depending on the type of module and how much memory it has, as shown in Table 1-6.
