Summary of Configuration Tasks for SIM Authentication

This chapter provides a summary of the tasks associated with configuring the optional SIM authentication module.

You must perform the following main tasks to configure the SIM authentication module:

1. Install Signalware — See the Steel-Belted Radius Carrier Installation Guide
2. Configure the SS7 or SIGTRAN protocol stacks and configure the authGateway Application for HLR Communication — See Chapter 17, Configuring SS7/IP Network Communication Files
3. Start Signalware — See the Steel-Belted Radius Carrier Installation Guide
4. Configure the Steel-Belted Radius Carrier files required to operate the SIM authentication module — See Chapter 18, Configuring SIM Authentication
5. Optionally configure the special attribute handling feature — See Chapter 19, Configuring the Special Attribute Handling Features
6. Configure Call Detail Record accounting — See Chapter 20, Configuring Call Detail Record Accounting
