Overview of Integrating an Offline T1600 Router into a Routing Matrix

After you install the required hardware on the T1600 router, you connect the T1600 router to the TX Matrix Plus router, including its redundant control and switching planes.

Note: The connections between the TXP-CBs and the LCC-CBs are proprietary Ethernet connections. Do not attempt to connect these components through a switch or hub.

After you convert the offline (not passing traffic) T1600 router, you integrate it with the TX Matrix Plus router:

  1. Gather the tools and parts required.

See Tools and Parts Required to Integrate an Offline T1600 Router.

  2. Connect the control planes.

See Connecting an Offline T1600 Router to the TX Matrix Plus Router.

  3. Verify that the switching plane cables have been connected to the TX Matrix Plus router. The cables should already be routed between the TX Matrix Plus router and the T1600 router, but not connected to the T1600 router.

See Connecting the Fiber-Optic Array Cables to the TX Matrix Plus Router.

  4. Connect the data planes by attaching the fiber-optic array cables to the T1600 router.

See Connecting an Offline T1600 Router to the TX Matrix Plus Router.

  5. Power on the T1600 router.

See Powering On the T1600 Router.
