Removing a JCS1200 Switch Module or Module Filler
Figure 1 shows how to remove and install a switch module.

To remove a switch
module or module filler (see Figure 1):
- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap
to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points
on the chassis.
- Pull the release handle to the open position.
The module moves out of the bay approximately 0.25 in. (0.6 cm).
- Slide the switch module out of the bay.

Figure 2 shows how to remove and install a switch module.

The JCS1200 platform
ships with one switch module. You can install a second switch module
for redundancy.
To install a
switch module (see Figure 2):
- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap
to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points
on the chassis.
- Remove the switch module filler, if one
is installed (see Removing a JCS1200 Switch Module or Module Filler).
- Make sure that the release handle is in the open position.
- Slide the switch module into the switch module
interposer until it stops.
- Push the switch module release handle to the closed
position.
- Connect the cables to the switch module.
