Removing a JCS1200 Switch Module Filler Tray

Figure 1 shows how to remove and install a switch module filler tray.

To remove a switch module filler tray (see Figure 1):

  1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
  2. Remove the switch module or filler from the switch module bay (see Removing a JCS1200 Switch Module or Module Filler).
  3. Pull the filler tray release handle to the open position. The filler tray moves out of the bay approximately 0.25 in. (0.6 cm).
  4. Slide the filler tray out of the bay.

Installing a JCS1200 Switch Module Filler Tray

To install a switch module filler tray:

  1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis.
  2. Remove the switch module filler and filler tray, if one is installed (see Removing a JCS1200 Switch Module or Module Filler and Removing a JCS1200 Switch Module Filler Tray).
  3. Make sure that the release handle is in the open position.
  4. Slide the switch module filler tray into the switch module bay until it stops.
  5. Push the filler tray release handle to the closed position.
  6. Install a switch module or filler (see Installing a JCS1200 Switch Module or Module Filler).
