Installing a Left-Angled Power Cord on MX960 Routers with High-Capacity
AC Power Supplies
Use the following procedures to install a left-angled
cord on the power supply:
- Ensure that the AC input switch on the power supply is
in the off (O) position.
- Starting with PEM 0, plug the new left-angled cord into
the receptacle on the power supply.
- Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap
to your bare wrist, and connect the strap to one of the ESD points
on the chassis.
- Plug the power cord into the power source receptacle.

- Route the power cord as shown in Figure 1. Dress the power cords appropriately.
Verify that the power cord does not block the air exhaust and access
to router components, and that they do not drape where people could
trip on them.
- Move the AC input switch on the power supply to the on (|) position.
- Repeat for the remaining power supplies.
